All you need to know about getting married in Seychelles
The following are legal requirements and must be fulfilled:
- The wedding confirmation must be received at least 30 days before the wedding date
- Generally, weddings are held between Monday and Friday (9 am to 4 pm). Arrangements for weddings taking place outside of these days and hours can be made at an additional cost (100 EUR)
- Couples must stay in the Seychelles for a minimum of 3 nights before the actual wedding date
- The majority age for male or female to contract marriage is eighteen years and over.
- All documents must be in either English or French. For other nationalities, a notarised translation must be scanned and emailed to us in Seychelles. The translated copies must be presented with the original documents upon arrival in the Seychelles.

The following documents are required for weddings between:
Foreigner and foreigner
- Birth certificate of both parties
- Divorce certificates if applicable
- Clear copy of Passport of both parties
- Death certificate of previous spouse if widow or widower
- All Document should be apostille and authenticated
Seychellois and Seychellois
- Birth certificate of both parties
- Seychelles National Identity cards
- Divorce certificates if applicable
- Clear copy of Passport where appropriate
- Death certificate of previous spouse if widow or widower
Seychellois and foreigner
Seychellois
- Birth certificate of both parties
- Seychelles National Identity cards
- Divorce certificates if applicable
- Clear copy of Passport where appropriate
- Death certificate of previous spouse if widow or widower
Foreigner
- Original Birth Certificate* (Apostille)- If country is not a member of the apostil convention certificate must be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in respective countries.
- Celibacy Certificate (*As Above)
- Divorce Certificate where applicable
- Death certificate of previous spouse if widow or widower
- Police character certificate- can collect from Seychelles Police Station if been in the country for six months or more
- Permit of stay in Seychelles
- One passport size photo
Special requirements that apply for specific countries
Swiss nationals
Swiss passport holders and residents should travel with 2 sets of certified copies and all original documents (applicable for both partners).
French nationals
French passport holders and residents have to follow a different procedure. Please contact the French Embassy in Seychelles (see below contact) or contact us for further information

Russian nationals
Russian passport holders and residents will need a translation of the Seychelles Marriage Certificate by the Russian Embassy on Mahé (+65 Euro).
UAE residents
UAE residents will require our attested documents package for legalization of their marriage in UAE and in addition also the attestation by the UAE Embassy in Seychelles. We will handle the process for you! (+65 Euro)
Filipino nationals
Filipino nationals we can provide the full procedure of registration of their marriage at the Philippines Consulate in Victoria (350 Euro).
